SUMMER OLYMPICS 2004
In 2004 the Olympic Games returned in their ancient birthplace. Athletes from nations worldwide united in Athens, the city of their revival, to engage in noble competition. The Athenian Olympics combined history and culture with sports and the spirit of Olympism.
FUNCTIONAL PICTOGRAMS
Sets of functional pictograms used as the essential visual reference for any venue-related information; merchandise, signs and tickets, environmental graphics and signage. Each is a seperate image and was directed by the Image & Identity Department. The artistic expression is a node to the simplicity of the human form as depicted on fragments of black figure ceramic vases, where solid black shapes represent the human body and a single line defines the detailing of the form.
